Traveling Florida & Beautiful Everglades

Much more than a “River of Grass” the Everglades of Florida preserve a world of natural beauty. Using the instructors beautiful photography, the class will travel as the water does. The journey will introduce endangered orchids, secretive birds, beautiful butterflies and flowers, quiet alligators, panthers, tree filled swamps, and picturesque
scenery. Along the way the class will look at how fire, hurricanes and water help control todays Everglades.

Arnold Collens has degrees in education and business from Wayne State University. He is an enthusiastic world traveler, tour guide and trained photographer. Wintering in Florida for the last 14 years, he has served as naturalist for the National Audubon Society at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. Corkscrew is located in the western Everglades and Arnie thrives there as docent, story teller and published photographer.
