Come celebrate Women’s History Month at the Ellen Kayrod Art Gallery

Hannan Center proudly announces the dates for the upcoming exhibit ‘When There Are Nine’ a tribute to Ruth Bader Ginsberg:

“So now the perception is, yes, women are here to stay. And when I’m sometimes asked when will there be enough [women on the Supreme Court]? And I say when there are nine, people are shocked. But there’d been nine men, and nobody’s ever raised a question about that.”

An exhibit exploring the artwork of Detroit African American artists, honoring the past and present contributions to our cultural landscape while giving a glimpse of the future.

Displayed will be a variety of work by many local artists and specially featured original artwork for sale by recent Detroit ancestors, Ron Scarbough and Warren Wells.

Hannan will be open for the Noel Night festivities. We will be hosting:

  • Live Band in the garden under our heated canopy
  • Kayrod Gallery Opening ‘Dolls in the D’
  • Art vendors will be onsite
  • Santa Claus will visit
  • Theater performances and Singing groups
  • The ‘Barbie’ movie will be showing
  • An artful craft for the kids
