As part of WDET’s program of community outreach, producer Mike Blank and the Hannan House have been collecting and producing oral histories from senior citizens throughout the region. This collection focuses on Seniors’ contribution to communities through volunteering.
Since Harold Spence retired he has become a senior citizen advocate. He came to the Hannan House and provided assistance to those that needed computer help. He was also a volunteer at the James Tatum Foundation for the Arts. Spence gives appreciation to the Hannan House and the Michigan Welfare Rights for helping him feel more passionate about volunteering.
