As part of WDET’s program of community outreach, producer Mike Blank and the Hannan House have been collecting and producing oral histories from senior citizens throughout the region. This collection focuses on Seniors’ contribution to communities through volunteering.
Mr. McCree was born in Massachusetts, went to college in Tennessee, but his volunteering path didn’t start until he came to Detroit. Most of his volunteering work has been through the Detroit Renaissance Lions Club, which he has been a member of for about 25 years. McCree wants to stay healthy enough to continue to contribute to the Lions Club. He also does volunteering work with his church.
