Join us for an intergenerational community kinetic visual storytelling animation workshop project with Academy Award nominated filmmaker, award winning animator, director, artist and educator, Mr. Gary Schwartz. His kinetic cinema sculptures, installations and films have been exhibited in major museums and galleries internationally.

Participants will create an animated project based on the motto of Detroit ‘SPERAMUS MELIORA RESURGET CINERIBUS’ – We hope for better things; it will rise from the ashes. This project will explore differences in interpretation and perspective while facilitating student learning in kinetic typography, an animation technique mixing motion and text. The final animation will be projected on the Hannan building front windows for display to the community during Dlectricity, September 22 + 23, 2017.
